New Gas Oil Additive for Vehicles
This new Gas Oil additive is to be used with ALL machinery but NOT boilers that run on Gas Oil. The boilers must use Premium Heating Oil Additive for which enquiries should be made at our office.
Gas Oil additive for vehicles - this is actually put into the tanks. The customer would be provided with one bottle to treat 3000 liters and will have to keep the remainder of the bottle and either make sure that it is available to us for when we do the next delivery or put it into the tank themselves before we make the delivery.
The reason: Gas Oil is now Ultra Low Sulphur (ULS) and the tractors need the sulphur in order to operate efficiently or at all, in some cases.
The Gas Oil additive also has the following extra benefits:
- Better pulling power
- Easier starting
- Smoother running
- Better protection
- Lower fuel consumption
- Lower smoke, particulate and nox emissions
- Reduces sludge and fuel tank contamination
- Fewer water problems
However, there are two extra points to consider when using this additive:
- Because of the lower sulphur levels, customers MAY need to de-contaminate their tanks every now and then with a seperate anti-bug treatment which eliminates organic growths. Normally, this will only need to be done if the Gas Oil is likely to "sit" in the tank for a long period of time.
- Gas Oil freezes at a much lower temperature (-7 degrees celcius) so if the tank is kept out in the open, then the customer will need to purchase an Anti Wax treatment and this will stop the gas oil from waxing up.
Both the above treatments are available upon enquiry to our office.
Much as we would like to keep things simple, we have to now offer these treatments and additives as the government aligns everything to the EU and they are required to keep your systems running throughout the change!!!!
